Author/Illustrator: Karen Katz
Reading Level: Ages 1 - 5
Hardcover: 32 pages

"No one ever calls me by my real name!" complains a sweet little baby. She is upset that she's been called a Cupcake or Buttercup or Giggly Goose or Little Lamb. She pleads with mommy to never ever call her a Sweet Gumdrop and use her real name instead. But, What is her real name? She has a shiny crown and wears sparkly shoes, fancy dress, velvet cape, glittering jewels and carries a royal wand. She loves to dance with princes and keeps everyone in her plush animal kingdom well-fed and happy. She rejoices when her parents finally calls her a "Princess Baby".
We have many Karen Katz books and She loves them all. But, this book is by far her favorite. The illustrations are bright, colorful and cheery. She adores the little princess baby and is captivated by the shiny crown and sparkly shoes. With a huge smile on her face, she tucks the book under her arm and carries it everywhere she goes. Not a day goes by without reading it at least a couple of times. If you have a little princess at home, you gotta have this book!!!
My Rating: 4.5/5
