Beep, Beep, Let's Go! by Eleanor Taylor

Title: Beep, Beep, Let's Go!
Author/Illustrator: Eleanor Taylor
Reading Level: Ages 2 - 4
Hardcover: 32 pages
Publisher: Bloomsbury Publishing PLC

"Jump in. Buckle up. All set? Let's go!". In this fun-filled adventurous picture book, a family of dogs heads out to the beach after loading up their red convertible with beach balls, shovel, pail, floats and umbrella. As they go beeping along their way, they are greeted by pigs on bicycles, mouses on mini-scooters, hippos riding ice cream vans and bears driving a truck load of watermelons. Pandas, Zebras, Elephants, Giraffes, Goats and Geese join in the parade honking and mooing along the way. After a long ride, they finally reach their destination - the BEACH. They bring out their towels, hats and snacks. They have fun fishing, building sand castles and flying kites, before they finally jump in the water with a big splash!!

There is a whole bunch of adorable animals to look at, delectable fruits and ice cream to salivate over, a whole slew of vehicles and other beach accessories to get excited about. This book has very few text and the soft pastel illustrations on a white background make it more pleasing. My daughter spends so much time just looking at the different animals and the beach gears they carry. And, she gets totally excited about ice creams, balloons and balls. She runs for her strawberry ice cream (toy) cone and we continue to honk and beep along as she pretends to slurp it. We end up reading it more than once. Give it a try!

My Rating: 4/5
