Kitty's Cuddles by Jane Cabrera

Title: Kitty's Cuddles
Author/Illustrator: Jane Cabrera
Reading Level: Baby - Preschool
Hardcover: 26 pages
Publisher: Holiday House

Kitty loves to cuddle. But, who will be his favorite friend to cuddle? Will be it a tiny mouse with his teeny-weeny cuddle or a happy frog with her squidgy, quidgy cuddle? How about a feathery peacock  with his bright tickly cuddle? Well, May be he likes a snug, squeezy cuddle from a soggy octopus. As the kitty experiments cuddling with his animal friends, he finally gets his favorite cuddle from his new baby brother. Babies would love to watch the kitty cuddling up with some of their favorite animals like an elephant, monkey and a big bear. Some rarely seen animals like a scaly armadillo and a spiky porcupine may surprise some babies with their friendly/prickly cuddles.

Jane Cabrera is an award-winning author/illustrator and her books have always been favorites with babies and preschoolers. Her vibrant, cartoonish like illustrations sprawl across double-page spreads. Even though it is not a touch and feel book, my daughter loves to pretend as if the octopus is sticky and the porcupine is prickly. She giggles for a tickly cuddle from a peacock and braces herself for a tight cuddle from a monkey. The pictures make it so real for her she feels as if she were the one who cuddles up with all the animals. Needless to say, she loves to cuddle up with this book anytime.

My Rating: 5/5
